I then get an error message that says ‘Styles in FOND named (this is how its spelt in the application) “……….” could be exported in unexpected way" And "You have used duplicate styles" but I have used different options and when I save it I still get the problem that it is not saving all the fonts in the suitcase and only shows the first couple of font types. I have the ‘Macintosh Type1’ option selected when I do this. I have opened up the fonts in font lab and checked all the fonts have the same family name and checked that there are no errors with the fields I have entered on the font info screen with the ‘validate names’ button.Īfter I done this I then generate suitcase and add all possible fonts with the ‘add menu’ button. Right i am still working on this issue and am not having any luck. Believe me i have tried many such resolutions from people that have sent me links but they do not do exactly what I'm asking for, so if you are good enough to send me a link please also provide a description on how to do what I'm asking. Please don't simply send me a link to software saying try this. if i create a collection called OldStyle Serifs in Font book can i then filter these somehow within the application? So when you consider i have near on 600 fonts you can imagine the size of my fonts list.Īlso has anyone found of a way to show custom categories in any CS applications? i.e. As you can imagine for just the Today Shop font alone an additional 11 font listings are displayed in teh font panel. Why do i want to do this you ask? Well as most designers using CS know, CS applications list the fonts as per within the system and hence i have to scroll through hundreds of fonts each time in instead of the families which makes things tedious. I have the entire family but would like to list it as a single entry with all its variants to reside within the parent so when i click the little arrow they are listed beneath (as shown with Times New Roman on the image). The image shows a particular troublesome font. In order to explain this further please refer to the attached image called Group example. I understand that Fontbook allows the user to create custom groups and collections but this doesn't help in applications such as InDesign where fonts are listed exactly as they have been installed on in the OS. What i am trying to do is combine all fonts from a specific family into a single group. Hi i have tried to work this out for near on 6 months now and have crashed 3 mac laptops in the process so i believe it's now time to ask the experts :)
